Link Scoring Guidelines: 0 - 10 domes

When evaluating a site, please review it for Layout, Access, Source and Content. The information in brackets are suggestions for scoring but are by no means binding. Remember, you as an editor are independantly responsible for assigning a score and you have the option of overriding these guidelines.You can either use the round check boxes on the bottom right to score this site, or you may enter a total score into the box on the first line:

Layout

 

0 - 2 domes

 

0 - poor layout (example difficult to read, text and background have similar color, difficult to navigate, many "dead" links)
1 - acceptable layout (easy to read and navigate, some "dead" links)
2 - good layout ( intuative display/navigation, few/no dead links, internal search capability)

       

Access

 

0 - 1 domes

 

0 - poor access (server frequently down or very slow to load [> 15 seconds until page is completely loaded])
1- accepatable access (infrequent down times, acceptable speed { < 15 seconds to load])

   

 

 

Source

 

0 - 3 domes

 

0 - poor source (author unclear, no author contact information, difficult to identify, no/infrequent references, no privacy policy or HON code, date of publication/last update unclear)
1 - acceptable source (author identified and can be contacted, privacy policy or HON code, date of publication/last update present)
2 - good source (author identified and can be contacted, references provided, privacy policy or HON code, date of publication/last update present, editorial review process described)
3- excellent source (author identified and can be contacted, scientific references provided, privacy policy or HON code, date of publication/last update present, editorial review process described)

   

 

 

Content

 

0 - 4 domes

 

0 - unacceptable content (little/no actual content, misleading/non-scientific content, content difficult to identify among advertisement)
1 - poor content (little content, or content of little use to intended audience)
2 - acceptable content (content of value to target audience, not misleading, accurate and complete, may contain advertisement)
3 - good content (content of value to target audience, not misleading, accurate and complete, no advertisement)
4 - outstanding content (content of highest value, not misleading, accurate and complete, no advertisement)
